Al-Kahf - Surah 18
110 verses
And thus, We caused them to trip up so that they would know that the promise of GOD is true and that there is no doubt about the Hour. When they disputed with their affair between them and said, "Construct a building for them; their LORD is aware of them."Those who prevailed in their affair said, "We will seize a mosque for them."
And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika), We caused them to trip up (A'thar'naa Älai'him) so that (Li) they (p) would know (Ya'lamuu') that (Anna) the promise of GOD (Wa'da-llahi) is true (Haqqun) and (Wa) that (Anna) there is no (Laa) doubt (Rai'ba) about (Fiihaa) the Hour (Es'Saa'äta). When (Iz') they disputed with (Yatanaazauuna) their affair (Am'ra-hum') between them (Bai'nahum) and (Fa) said (Qaalu'), "Construct (Eb'nu') a building (Bun'yaana) for them (Älai'him); their LORD (Rabbu-hum) is aware of them (A'lamu Bi-him)." Those who (Ellaziina) prevailed in (Galabu' Älaa) their affair (Am'ri-him) said (Qaala), "We will (La) seize (Nattakhizanna) a mosque (place of worship) (Mas'jidaa) for them (Älai'him)."
Some will say, "They were three; their dog was their fourth, "and others will say, "Five; their dog was their sixth, "as they guess the unseen; and others will say, "Seven, and their dog was their eighth."Say:"My LORD is aware of their number. None knows them except a few."So do not dispute about them except with an obvious dispute, nor shall you seek a legal opinion about them from anyone among them.
Some will say (Sa Yaquuluuna), "They were three (Thalaathatun); their dog (Kal'bu-hum) was their fourth (Raabiu-hum)," and (Wa) others will say (Yaquuluuna), "Five (Kham'satun); their dog (Kal'bu-hum) was their sixth (Saadisu-hum)," as they guess (Raj'maa Bi) the unseen (El'Gai'bi); and (Wa) others will say (Yaquuluuna), "Seven (Sab'ätun), and (Wa) their dog (Kal'bu-hum) was their eighth (Thaaminu-hum)." Say (Qul): "My LORD (Rabbii) is aware of (A'lamu Bi) their number (Eddati-him). None (Maa) knows them (Ya'lamu-hum) except (illa) a few (Qaliilun)." So do not (Falaa) dispute (Tumaari) about them (Fiihim) except (illa) with an obvious (Zoahiraan) dispute (Miraa'an), nor (Walaa) shall you seek a legal opinion (Tas'taf'ti) about them (Fiihim) from anyone (Ahadan) among them (Min'hum).
And do not say to anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow, "
And do not (Walaa) say (Taquulanna) to (Li) anything (Shai'in), "Indeed, I (Innii) will do (Faaelun) that (Zaalika) tomorrow (the near future) (Gadaa),"
unless GOD wills;"and remember your LORD when you forget and say, "May my LORD guide me to a nearer right course than this."
unless (illaa An) GOD wills (Yashaa'a-llahu);" and (Wa) remember (Ez'kur) your LORD (s) (Rabba-ka) when (Izaa) you forget (Nasiita) and (Wa) say (Qul'), "May (Äsaa An) my LORD (Rabbii) guide me (Yah'diyani) to (Li) a nearer (Aq'raba) right course (Rashadaa) than (Min') this (Haaza)."
And they lingered in their cave for three hundred years and increased by nine.
And (Wa) they lingered (Labithu') in (Fii) their cave (Kah'fi-him) for three hundred (Thalaatha Mi'atin) years (Siniina) and (Wa) increased (Ez'daadu') by nine (Tis'ää).
Say:"GOD is aware of how long they lingered. To the unseen of the heavens and the earth; HE sees thereby and hears."They have no guardian besides HIM, and HE does not partner anyone in HIS rule.
Say (Quli): "GOD (Ellahu) is aware (A'lamu) of how long (Bimaa) they lingered (Labithu'). To HIM belongs (Lahu) the unseen (Gai'bu) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di); HE sees (Ab'sir') thereby (Bihi) and (Wa) hears (As'mi')." They have (Lahum) no (Maa Min) guardian (Waliyyin) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi), and (Wa) HE does not (Laa) partner (Yush'riku) anyone (Ahadaa) in (Fii) HIS rule (Huk'mi-hi).
And recite what has been inspired to you of the book of your LORD. There is no alteration to HIS words, and you will never find a refuge besides HIM.
And (Wa) recite (Et'lu) what (Maa) has been inspired (Uuhiya) to you (s) (ilai'ka) of (Min) the book (Kitaabi) of your LORD (Rabbi-ka). There is no (Laa) alteration (Mubaddila) to (Li) HIS words (Kalimaati-hi), and you will never (Walan) find (Tajida) a refuge (Mul'tahadaa) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi). (27:92)
And keep yourself patient with those who invoke their LORD in the morning and evening, desiring HIS countenance. And do not turn your eyes away from them to desire the adornment of the worldly life, nor shall you obey one whom We have omitted his heart from Our remembrance and who follows his inclination while he has abandoned his affair.
And (Wa) keep yourself (s) (Naf'sa-ka) patient (Es'bir) with (Maä) those who (Ellaziina) invoke (Yad'uuna) their LORD (Rabba-hum) in the morning (Bil' Gadaati) and evening (Wal' Äshiyyi), desiring (Yuriiduuna) HIS countenance (6:52) (Waj'ha-hu). And do not (Walaa) turn (Ta'du) your eyes (Äi'naa-ka) away from them (Än'hum) to desire (Turiidu) the adornment (Ziinata) of the worldly (Ed'Dun'ya) life (El'Hayaati), nor (Walaa) shall you obey (Tuti') one whom (Man') We have omitted (Ag'fal'naa) his heart (Qal'ba-hu) from (Än) Our remembrance (Zik'ri-naa) and (Wa) who follows (Ettabaä) his inclination (Hawaa-hu) while (Wa) he has (Kaana) abandoned (Furutoa) his affair (Am'ru-hu).
And say:"The truth is from your LORD; so whoever wills then let him believe, and whoever wills then let him disbelieve."Indeed, We have prepared for the transgressors a fire whose canopy will encompass them. And if they ask for help, they will be helped with water like molten brass, which scalps the faces. Wretched is the drink and evil is the support.
And (Wa) say (Quli): "The truth (El'Haqqu) is from (Min) your LORD (Rabbi-kum); so (Fa) whoever (Man) wills (Shaa'a) then let (Fal') him believe (Yu'min), and (Wa) whoever wills (Shaa'a) then let (Fal') him disbelieve (Yak'fur)." Indeed (Innaa), We have prepared (A'tad'naa) for the transgressors (Liz' Zoalimiina) a fire (Naaran) whose canopy (Suraadiqu-ha) will encompass them (Ahaato Bi-him’). And (Wa) if (In) they ask for help (Yas'tagiithu'), they will be helped (Yugaathu') with (Bi) water (Maain) like (Ka) molten brass (El'Muh'li), which scalps (Yash'wii) the faces (El'Wujuuha). Wretched (Bi'sa) is the drink (Es'Sharaabu) and (Wa) evil (Saa'at’) is the support (Mur'tafaqaa).
Indeed, those who believe and do good deeds; indeed, We will not waste the reward of those who did well in deed.
Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu') and (Wa) do (Ämilu') good deeds (Es'Soalihaati); indeed (Innaa), We will not (Laa) waste (Nudii’u) the reward (Aj'ra) of those who (Man') did well (Ah'sana) in deed (Ämalaa).
Those will have gardens of Eden; rivers will flow beneath them. They will be adorned with bracelets of gold therein and they will wear green garments of silk and brocade, resting on couches therein. Wonderful is the reward and good is the support.
Those (U'laaika) will have (Lahum) gardens (Jannaatu) of Eden (Äd'nin); rivers (El'An'haaru) will flow (Taj'rii) beneath them (Min Tah'ti-him). They will be adorned (Yuhallaw'na) with (Min') bracelets (Asaawira) of (Min) gold (Zahabin) therein (Fiiha) and (Wa) they will wear (Yal'basuuna) green (Khud'ran) garments (Thiyaaban) of (Min) silk (Sundusin) and (Wa) brocade (Is'tab'raqin), resting (Muttaki'iina) on (Älaa) couches (El'Araa'iki) therein (Fiiha). Wonderful (Ni'ma) is the reward (Etthawaabu) and (Wa) good (Hasunat’) is the support (Mur'tafaqaa).
And cite for them the example of two men, "We allocated two gardens of grapes to one of them, and We surrounded both with date palms and placed vegetation between both.
And (Wa) cite (Ed'rib') for them (Lahum) the example (Mathalan) of two men (Rajulai'ni), "We allocated (Jaäl'naa) two gardens (Jannatai'ni) of (Min') grapes (A'naabin) to (Li) one of them (Ahadi-humaa), and (Wa) We surrounded both (Hafaf'naa-humaa) with (Bi) date palms (Nakh'lin) and (Wa) placed (Jaäl'naa) vegetation (Zar'ä) between both (Bai'nahumaa).
Both of the two gardens brought forth their fruit and nothing transgressed thereof. And We caused a river to gushed forth through both.
Both of (Kil'taa) the two gardens (El'Jannatai'ni) brought forth (Aatat’) their fruit (Ukula-haa) and (Wa) nothing (Lam Shai'a) transgressed (Taz'lim) thereof (Min'hu). And (Wa) We caused a river (Naharaa) to gushed forth (Fajjar'naa) through both (Khilaala-humaa).
While there was fruit for him, then he said to his companion as he was conversing with him, "I am greater than you in wealth and mightier as an individual."
While (Wa) there was (Kaana) fruit (Thamarun) for him (Lahu), then (Fa) he said to (Qaala Li) his companion (Soahibi-hi) as (Wa) he (Huwa) was conversing with him (Yuhaawiru-hu), "I am (Ana') greater (Ak'tharu) than you (Minka) in wealth (Maalan) and (Wa) mightier (Aäzzu) as an individual (Nafaraa)."
So he entered his garden while he was unjust to his soul, he said, "I do not think that this will ever perish.
So (Wa) he entered (Dakhala) his garden (Jannata-hu) while (Wa) he (Huwa) was unjust (Zoalimun) to (Li) his soul (Naf'si-hi), he said (Qaala), "I do not (Maa) think (A'zunnu) that (An) this (Haazihi) will ever (Abadaa) perish (Tabiida).
"And I do not think the Hour will take place. And if I should be returned to my LORD, I will find one than it in recourse."
"And (Wa) I do not (Maa) think (A'zunnu) the Hour (Es'Saa'äta) will take place (Qaaimatan). And (Wa) if (La'in) I should be returned (Rudidttu) to (ilaa) my LORD (Rabbii), I will (La) find (Ajidanna) one better (Khai'ran) than it (Min'haa) in recourse (Munqalabaa)."
His companion said to him as he was conversing with him, "Have you disbelieved in the One who created you from dust and then from sperm and then organized you a man?
His companion (Soahibu-hu) said to him (Qaala La-hu) as (Wa) he (Huwa) was conversing with him (Yuhaawiru-hu), "Have you disbelieved (A'kafar'ta) in the One who (Billazii) created you (Khalaqa-ka) from (Min) dust (Turaabin) and then (Thumma) from (Min) sperm (Nut'fatin) and then (Thumma) organized you (Sawwaa-ka) a man (Rajulaa)?
"But for me; HE is GOD, my LORD, and I do not associate anyone with my LORD.
"But for me (Laakinna'); HE (Huwa) is GOD (Ellahu), my LORD (Rabbii), and I do not (Walaa) associate (Ush'riku) anyone (Ahadan) with (Bi) my LORD (Rabbii).
"And why when you entered your garden did you not say, 'What GOD has willed; there is no power except by GOD?' Although you see me less than you in wealth and children,
"And (Wa) why (Law') when (Iz') you entered (Dakhal'ta) your garden (Jannata-ka) did you not (Laa) say (Qul'ta), 'What (Maa) GOD has willed (Shaa'a-llahu); there is no (Laa) power (Quwwata) except (illaa) by GOD (Billahi)?' Although (In) you see me (Tarani Ana') less (Aqalla) than you (Minka) in wealth (Maalan) and (Wa) children (Waladaa),
but perhaps my LORD would give me better than your garden, and HE would send a pouring from the sky upon it, and it would become a slippery field,
but (Fa) perhaps (Äsaa An) my LORD (Rabbii) would give me (Yu'tiyani) better (Khai'ran) than (Min) your garden (Jannati-ka), and (Wa) HE would send (Yur'sila) a pouring (Hus'baanan) from (Mina) the sky (Es'Samaai) upon it (Älai'haa), and (Fa) it would become (Tus'biha) a slippery (Zalaqaa) field (Soeedan),
