2:101 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And when a messenger from GOD came to them confirming what was with them, a group of those who were given the Book discarded the book of GOD behind their backs as if they did not know.

And (Wa) when (Lammaa) a messenger (Rasuulun) from GOD (Min' Endi-llahi) came to them (Jaa'a-hum') confirming (Musoddiqun) what (Limaa) was with them (Maähum'), a group (Fariiqun) of (Mina) those who (Ellaziina) were given (Uutu') the Book (El'Kitaaba) discarded (Nabaza) the book of GOD (3:23) (Kitaaba-llahi) behind (Waraa'a) their backs (Zuhuuri-him') as if they (Ka'anna-hum') did not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).

2:102 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And they followed what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. And Solomon did not disbelieve but the devils who disbelieved taught the people sorcery together with what was revealed to the two Angels at Babel; Harot and Marot. And the two did not teach anyone unless they said, "We are only a trial, so do not disbelieve."So they learnt from them both what causes separation between a man and his wife. And they cannot harm anyone with it except by the permission of GOD. And they learnt what harms them and does not benefit them. And they certainly know that whoever buys it will have no positive quality in the hereafter. And wretched is what they trade their souls for, if only they knew.

And (Wa) they followed (Ettabau') what (Maa) the devils (Es'Shayaatiinu) had recited (Tat'lu') during (Älaa) the reign (Mul'ki) of Solomon (Sulai'maana). And (Wa) Solomon (Sulai'maanu) did not (Maa) disbelieve (Kafara) but (Walaakinna) the devils (Es'Shayaatiina) who disbelieved (Kafaru') taught (Yuällimuuna) the people (En'Naasa) sorcery (Es'Sih'ra) together with (Wa) what (Maa) was revealed (Unzila) to (Älaa) the two Angels (El'Malakai'ni) at (Bi) Babel (Baabila); Harot (Haaruuta) and (Wa) Marot (Maaruuta). And (Wa) the two did not (Maa) teach (-Yuällimaani) anyone (Min' Ahadin) unless (Hattaa) they said (Yaquulaa), "We (Nah'nu) are only (Innamaa) a trial (Fit'natun), so (Fa) do not (Laa) disbelieve (Tak'fur')." So (Fa) they (p) learnt (Yataällamuuna) from them both (Min'humaa) what (Maa) causes separation (Yufarriquuna Bihi) between (Bai'na) a man (El'Mar'i) and (Wa) his wife (Zaw'ji-hi). And (Wa) they (Hum) cannot (Maa Bi) harm (Doarriina) anyone (Min' Ahadin) with it (Bihi) except (illa) by (Bi) the permission of GOD (Iz'ni-llahi). And (Wa) they (p) learnt (Yataällamuuna) what (Maa) harms them (Yadurru-hum') and does not (Wamaa) benefit them (Yanfau-hum'). And (Wa) they certainly (Laqad') know (Älimu') that whoever (Limani) buys it (Esh'taraa-hu) will have (Lahu) no (Maa Min') positive quality (Khalaaqin) in the hereafter (Fiil' Aakhirati). And (Wa) wretched (La Bi'sa) is what (Maa) they trade (Sharaw') their souls (Anfusa-hum') for (Bihi), if only (Law' Kaanu') they knew (Ya'lamuun).

2:103 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And if only they had believed and became pious, they would have been rewarded the best from GOD; if only they knew.

And (Wa) if only they (Law' Anna-hum') had believed (Aamanu') and (Wa) became pious (Ettaqaw'), they would have (La) been rewarded (Mathuubatun) the best (Khai'run) from GOD (Min' Endi-llahi); if only (Law' Kaanu') they knew (Ya'lamuun).

2:104 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

O you who believe, do not say, "Be our shepherd, "but say, "Observe us, "and listen. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) say (Taquulu'), "Be our shepherd (Raae-naa)," but (Wa) say (Quulu'), "Observe us (Enzur'naa)," and (Wa) listen (Es'mau'). And (Wa) for the disbelievers (Lil' Kaafiriina) is a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabun).

2:105 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Neither those who disbelieve among the People of the Book nor the polytheists wish that any good should be sent down to you from your LORD. But GOD specifies HIS mercy to whomever HE wills, for GOD possesses great favour.

Neither (Maa) those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru') among (Min') the People of the Book (Ah'lil' Kitaabi) nor (Walaa) the polytheists (idolaters) (El'Mush'rikiina) wish (Yawaddu) that (An) any (Min') good (Khai'rin) should be sent down (Yunazzala) to you (Älai'kum) from (Min) your LORD (Rabbi-kum'). But (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) specifies (Yakh'tassu) HIS mercy (Rah'mati-hi) to (Bi) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau), for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) possesses (Zuu) great (El'Äziim) favour (El'Fad'li).

2:106 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Whatever We transcribed of a sign or cause it to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or the like of it. Do you not know that GOD is capable of all things?

Whatever (Maa) We transcribed (Nansakh') of (Min') a sign (verse) (Aayatin) or (Aw') cause it to be forgotten (Nunsi-haa), We bring (Na'ti Bi) one better (Khai'rin) than it (Min'haa) or (Aw') the like of it (Mith'li-haa). Do you not (Alam') know (Ta'lam') that GOD (Annallaha) is capable of (Qadiir Älaa) all (Kulli) things (Shai'in)? (Transcription / Transcribe - 7:154 / 45:29)

2:107 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Do you not know that to GOD belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and you have no guardian nor helper besides GOD?

Do you not (Alam') know (Ta'lam') that (Anna) to GOD belongs (Ellaha Lahu) the dominion (Mul'ku) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di), and (Wa) you have (Lakum) no (Maa Min) guardian (Waliyyin) nor (Walaa) helper (Nasiir) besides GOD (Min Duuni-llahi)?

2:108 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Or do you intend to ask your messenger as Moses was asked before? But whoever exchanges the faith for disbelief, then he has strayed from the straight way.

Or (Am') do you intend (Turiiduuna) to (An) ask (Tas'alu') your messenger (Rasuula-kum') as (Kamaa) Moses (Muusaa) was asked (Suila) before (Min Qab'lu)? But (Wa) whoever (Man) exchanges (Yatabaddali) the faith (El' iimaani) for (Bi) disbelief (El'Kuf'ra), then (Fa) he has (Qad') strayed (Dolla) from the straight (Sawaa'a) way (Es'Sabiil).

2:109 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And many of the People of the Book wish they could revert you to disbelievers after your faith out of envy from their souls after what has become clear to them of the truth. So excuse and pardon until GOD brings HIS command. Indeed, GOD is capable of all things.

And (Wa) many (Kathiirun) of (Min') the People of the Book (Ah'lil' Kitaabi) wish (Wadda Law') they could revert you (p) (Yarudduunakum) to disbelievers (Kuffaaran) after (Min Ba'di) your faith (iimaani-kum') out of envy (Hasadan) from (Min' Endi) their souls (Anfusi-him) after (Min Ba'di) what (Maa) has become clear (Tabayyana) to them (Lahumu) of the truth (El'Haqqu). So (Fa) excuse (E'fu') and (Wa) pardon (Es'fahu') until (Hattaa) GOD (Ellahu) brings (Ya'tiya Bi) HIS command (Am'ri-hi). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is capable of (Qadiir Älaa) all (Kulli) things (Shai'in).

2:110 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

So establish the Litany and give the Charity, and whatever you send forth for your souls of good, you will find it with GOD. Indeed, GOD is cognizant of what you do.

So (Wa) establish (Aqiimu') the Litany (Es'Solaata) and (Wa) give (Aatu') the Charity (Ez'Zakaata), and (Wa) whatever (Maa) you send forth (Tuqaddimu') for (Li) your souls (Anfusi-kum) of (Min') good (Khai'rin), you will find it (Tajiduu-hu) with GOD (Endallahi). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is cognizant of (Basiiru Bi) what (Maa) you do (Ta'maluuna).

2:111 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And they say, "None will enter the Garden except one who is a Jew or a Christian."These are their desires. Say:"Bring your proof, if you are truthful."

And (Wa) they say (Qaalu'), "None (Lan) will enter (Yad'khula) the Garden (El'Jannata) except (illa) one who (Man) is (Kaana) a Jew (Huudan) or (Aw') a Christian (Nasoaraa)." These (Til'ka) are their desires (Amaaniyyu-hum'). Say (Qul'): "Bring (Haatu') your proof (Bur'haana-kum'), if (In) you are (Kuntum') truthful (Soadiqiin)."

2:112 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Indeed, whoever submits his aim to GOD while being benevolent, then he will have his reward at his LORD. And there will be no fear upon them nor will they grieve.

Indeed (Balaa), whoever (Man') submits (As'lama) his aim (Waj'ha-hu) to GOD (Lillahi) while (Wa) being (Huwa) benevolent (Muh'sinun), then (Fa) he will have (Lahu) his reward (Aj'ru-hu) at (Enda) his LORD (Rabbi-hi). And (Wa) there will be no (Laa) fear (Khaw'fun) upon them (Älai'him') nor (Walaa) will they (Hum') grieve (Yah'zanuun).

2:113 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And the Jews say, "The Christians are not upon anything, "while the Christians say, "The Jews are not upon anything, "and they recite the Book? Likewise did those who do not know say the like of their statement. But GOD will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they have been disputing.

And (Wa) the Jews (El'Yahuudu) say (Qaalati), "The Christians (En'Nasoaraa) are not (Lai'sati) upon (Älaa) anything (Shai'in)," while (Wa) the Christians (En'Nasoaraa) say (Qaalati), "The Jews (El'Yahuudu) are not (Lai'sati) upon (Älaa) anything (Shai'in)," and (Wa) they (Hum') recite (Yat'luuna) the Book (El'Kitaaba)? Likewise (Kazaalika) did those who (Ellaziina) do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuuna) say (Qaala) the like (Mith'la) of their statement (Qaw'li-him'). But (Fa) GOD (Ellahu) will judge (Yah'kumu) between them (Bai'nahum') on the Day of Resurrection (Yaw'mal' Qiyaamati) concerning what (Fiimaa) they have been (Kaanu') disputing (Yak'talifuun Fiihi).

2:114 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And who is more unjust than one who prevents the mosques of GOD from mentioning HIS name therein and strives in their ruin? Those, it is not for them to enter them except in fear. For them is disgrace in the world and they will have a terrible punishment in the hereafter.

And (Wa) who (Man') is more unjust (Az'lamu) than one who (Mimman) prevents (Manaä) the mosques (72:18) (Masaajida) of GOD (Ellahi) from (An) mentioning (Yuz'kara) HIS name (Es'mu-hu) therein (Fiihaa) and strives (Saää) in (Fii) their ruin (Kharaabi-haa)? Those (U'laa'ika), it is (Kaana) not (Maa) for them (Lahum') to (An) enter them (the mosques) (Yad'khuluu-haa) except (illa) in fear (Khaaifiina). For them (Lahum') is disgrace (Khiz'yun) in (Fii) the world (Ed'Dun'ya) and (Wa) they will have (Lahum') a terrible (Äziimu) punishment (Äzaabun) in the hereafter (Fiil' Aakhirati).

2:115 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And to GOD belongs the east and the west; so wherever you turn, there is the countenance of GOD. Indeed, GOD is Encompassing and Omniscient.

And (Wa) to GOD belongs (Lillahi) the east (El'Mash'riqu) and the west (El'Mag'ribu); so (Fa) wherever (Ai'namaa) you turn (Tawallu’), there is (Fathamma) the countenance of GOD (30:38) (Waj'hu-llahi). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Encompassing (Waasi'un) and Omniscient (Äliim).

2:116 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And they said, "GOD has a son."Glory be to HIM! In fact, to HIM belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth; they all yield to HIM.

And (Wa) they said (Qaalu'), "GOD has (Ettakhaza-llahu) a son (18:4) (Waladan)." Glory be to HIM (Sub'haana-hu)! In fact (Bal), to HIM belongs (Lahu) whatever (Maa) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di); they all (Kullu) yield (Qaanituun) to HIM (Lahu).

2:117 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Marvel of the heavens and the earth; and whenever HE issues a command, then HE only says to it, "Be, "then it becomes.

Marvel (Badiiu) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di); and (Wa) whenever (Izaa) HE issues (Qadoa) a command (Am'ran), then (Fa) HE only (Inammaa) says (Yaquulu) to it (Lahu), "Be (Kun)," then (Fa) it becomes (Yakuun).

2:118 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And those who do not know say, "Why does GOD not speak to us or a sign come to us?"Likewise did those before them say the like of their statement; their hearts are similar. We have clarified the verses to people who are certain.

And (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuuna) say (Qaala), "Why (Law'laa) does GOD (Ellahu) not (Laa) speak to us (42:51) (Yukallimu-naa) or (Aw') a sign (Aayatun) come to us (Ta'tii-naa)?" Likewise (Kazaalika) did those (Ellaziina) before them (Min Qab'li-him) say (Qaala) the like (Mith'la) of their statement (Qaw'li-him'); their hearts (Quluubu-hum') are similar (Tashaabahat'). We have (Qad') clarified (Bayyannaa) the verses (El'Aayaati) to (Li) people (Qaw'min) who are certain (Yuuqinuun).

2:119 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a herald and a warner. And you will not be questioned about the companions of Hell.

Indeed (Innaa), We have sent you (Mohammed) (Ar'sal'naa-ka) with the truth (Bil' Haqqi) as a herald (Bashiiran) and (Wa) a warner (Naziiran). And (Wa) you (s) will not (Laa) be questioned (Tus'alu) about (Än') the companions of Hell (As'haabil' Jahiim). (35:24)

2:120 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you, unless you follow their creed. Say:"Indeed, the guidance of GOD is the Guidance."And if you follow their inclinations after what has come to you of the knowledge, you would have no guardian nor helper against GOD.

And (Wa) never (Lan) will the Jews (El'Yahuudu) nor (Walaa) the Christians (En'Nasoaraa) be pleased with you (s) (Tar'doa Än-ka), unless (Hattaa) you follow (Tattabiä) their creed (Millata-hum'). Say (Qul'): "Indeed (Inna), the guidance of GOD (3:73) (Hudaa-llahi) is (Huwa) the Guidance (El'Hudaa)."
