2:141 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

That was a nation which had already passed. It will have what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be questioned about what they used to do. 2

That (Til'ka) was a nation (Ummatun) which had already (Qad') passed (Khalat'). It will have (Lahaa) what (Maa) it earned (Kasabat'), and (Wa) you will have (Lakum) what (Maa) you have earned (Kasab'tum'). And (Wa) you will not (Laa) be questioned (Tus'aluuna) about what (Ämmaa) they used to (Kaanu') do (Ya'maluun). 2

2:142 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their place of worship at which they were?"Say:"To GOD belongs the east and the west; HE guides whomever HE wills to a straight path."

The foolish (Es'Safahaau) among (Mina) the people (En'Naasi) will say (Sa Yaquulu), "What (Maa) has turned them away (Wallaa-hum') from (Än) their place of worship (10:87) (Qib'lati-himu) at (Älai'ha) which (Ellatii) they were (Kaanu)?" Say (Qul): "To GOD belongs (Lillahi) the east (Mash'riqu) and the west (2:115) (Mag'ribu); HE guides (Yah'dii) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau) to (ilaa) a straight (Mus'taqiim) path (Siraatin)."

2:143 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And thus have We made you a central nation so that you may be witnesses over the people, and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not assign the place of worship at which you are except that We may find out who would follow the Messenger from one who would turn back on his heels. And it is not important except for those whom GOD has guided. And GOD is not to waste your faith; indeed, GOD is to the people, Kind and Merciful.

And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika) have We made you (p) (Jaäl'naa-kum') a central (Wasatoan) nation (3:110) (Ummatan) so that (Li) you may be (Takuunu') witnesses (Shuhadaa'a) over (Älaa) the people (En'Naasi), and (Wa) the Messenger (Er'Rasuulu) will be a witness (Shahiidan) over you (Älai'kum'). And (Wa) We did not (Maa) assign (Jaäl'naa) the place of worship (El'Qib'lata) at (Älai'haa) which (Ellatii) you (s) are (Kunta) except (illa) that (Li) We may find out (Na'lama) who (Man) would follow (Yattabiu) the Messenger (Er'Rasuula) from one who (Mimman) would turn back (Yanqalibu) on (Älaa) his heels (Äqibai'hi). And (Wa) it is (Kaanat' La) not (In) important (Kabiiratan) except (illa) for (Älaa) those whom (Ellaziina) GOD has guided (Hadaa-llahu). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is (Kaana) not (Maa) to (Li) waste (Yudiiä) your faith (iimaana-kum'); indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is (La) to (Bi) the people (En'Naasi), Kind (Ra'uufun) and Merciful (Rahiim).

2:144 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

We have seen your face turning around toward the sky, so We have entrusted to you a place of worship with which you will be pleased; so turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. And wherever you may be, thus turn your faces towards it, so that those who were given the Book will know that it is the truth from their LORD. And GOD is not heedless of what they do.

We have (Qad') seen (Naraa) your face (s) (Waj'hi-ka) turning around (Taqalluba) toward (Fii) the sky (Samaai), so (Fa) We have (La) entrusted to you (Nuwalliyannaka) a place of worship (Qib'latan) with which (-haa) you will be pleased (Tar'doa-); so (Fa) turn (Walli) your face (Waj'ha-ka) towards (Shat'ra) the Sacred Mosque (Mas'jidil' Haraami). And (Wa) wherever (Hai'thu Maa) you (p) may be (Kuntum'), thus (Fa) turn (Wallu') your faces (Wujuuha-kum') towards it (Shat'ra-hu), so (Wa) that (Inna) those who (Ellaziina) were given (Uutu') the Book (El'Kitaaba) will (La) know (Ya'lamuuna) that it (Annahu) is the truth (El'Haqqu) from (Min) their LORD (Rabbi-him'). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is not (Maa Bi) heedless (Gaafilin) of what (Ämmaa) they do (Ya'maluun).

2:145 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And whether you bring every sign to those who were given the Book, they would not follow your place of worship, neither shall you be a follower of their place of worship, nor would they be followers of each other's place of worship. And if you follow their inclinations after what has come to you of the knowledge! Indeed, you in that case would be among the transgressors.

And (Wa) whether (Lain') you bring (Atai'ta Bi) every (Kulli) sign (Aayatin) to those who (Ellaziina) were given (Uutu') the Book (El'Kitaaba), they would not (Maa) follow (Tabi'u) your place of worship (Qib'lata-ka), neither (Wamaa Bi) shall you (s) (An'ta) be a follower (Taabi'en) of their place of worship (Qib'lata-hum'), nor (Wamaa) would they be followers (Taabi'en) of each other's (Ba'du-hum Ba'din) place of worship (Qib'lata). And (Wa) if (Laini) you follow (Ettaba'ta) their inclinations (Ah'waa'a-hum) after (Min Ba'di) what (Maa) has come to you (s) (Jaa'a-ka) of (Mina) the knowledge (El' ilmi)! Indeed, you (Innaka) in that case (Izan) would be among (Lamina) the transgressors (Ez'Zoalimiin). (10:87)

2:146 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Those to whom We gave the Book recognize it as they recognize their children. But indeed, a group among them are concealing the truth while they know.

Those (Ellaziina) to whom We gave (Aatai'naa-humu) the Book (El'Kitaaba) recognize it (Ya'rifuuna-hu) as (Kamaa) they recognize (Ya'rifuuna) their children (Ab'naa'a-hum'). But (Wa) indeed (Inna), a group (Fariiqan) among them (Min'hum') are (La) concealing (Yak'tumuuna) the truth (El'Haqqa) while (Wa) they (Hum') know (Ya'lamuun).

2:147 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

The truth is from your LORD; so do not be among the doubters.

The truth (El'Haqqu) is from (Min) your LORD (Rabbi-ka); so (Fa) do not (Laa) be (Takuunanna) among (Mina) the doubters (El'Mum'tariin). (3:60)

2:148 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And to each is a direction which it should turn to; so compete in good deeds. Wherever you may be, GOD will bring you forth, all together. Indeed, GOD is capable of all things.

And (Wa) to (Li) each (Kullin) is a direction (Wij'hatun) which (Huwa) it should turn to (Muwallii-ha); so (Fa) compete in (Es'tabiqu') good deeds (El'Khai'raati). Wherever (Ai'na Maa) you may be (Takuunu'), GOD (Ellahu) will bring you forth (Ya'ti Bi-kumu), all together (Jamii'än). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is capable of (Qadiir Älaa) all (Kulli) things (Shai'in).

2:149 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And from wherever you go forth, thus turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. For indeed, it is the truth from your LORD. And GOD is not heedless of what you do.

And (Wa) from (Min') wherever (Hai'thu) you go forth (Kharaj'ta), thus (Fa) turn (Walli) your face (Waj'ha-ka) towards (Shat'ra) the Sacred Mosque (El'Mas'jidil' Haraami). For (Wa) indeed, it (Innahu) is the truth (Lal' Haqqu) from (Min) your LORD (Rabbi-ka). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is not (Maa Bi) heedless (Gaafilin) of what (Ämmaa) you do (Ta'maluun).

2:150 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And from wherever you go forth, then turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. And wherever you may be, then turn your faces towards it so that there will not be any argument for the people against you, except those who transgress among them; so do not fear them but fear ME so that I may complete MY blessing upon you and perhaps you will be guided.

And (Wa) from (Min') wherever (Hai'thu) you go forth (Kharaj'ta), then (Fa) turn (Walli) your face (Waj'ha-ka) towards (Shat'ra) the Sacred Mosque (El'Mas'jidil' Haraami). And (Wa) wherever (Hai'thu Maa) you may be (Kuntum'), then (Fa) turn (Wallu') your faces (Wujuuha-kum') towards it (Shat'ra-hu) so that (Li') there will not (Alla) be (Yakuuna) any argument (Hujjatun) for the people (Lin' Naasi) against you (p) (Älai'kum'), except (illa) those who (Ellaziina) transgress (Zolamu') among them (Min'hum'); so (Fa) do not (Laa) fear them (Takh'shaw'hum') but (Wa) fear ME (Ekh'shaw'nii) so (Wa) that (Li) I may complete (Utimma) MY blessing (Ni'matii) upon you (Älai'kum') and (Wa) perhaps you (Laällakum') will be guided (Tah'taduun).

2:151 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Just as We have sent a messenger among you, reciting Our verses to you, purifying you and teaching you the Book and the Wisdom, teaching you what you did not know.

Just as (Kamaa) We have sent (Ar'sal'naa) a messenger (62:2) (Rasuulan) among you (Minkum'), reciting (Yat'lu') Our verses (Aayaati-naa) to you (Älai'kum'), purifying you (Yuzakkii-kum) and (Wa) teaching you (Yuällimu-kumu) the Book (El'Kitaaba) and the Wisdom (Wal' Hik'mata), teaching you (Yuällimu-kum) what (Maa) you did (Takuunu') not (Lam') know (Ta'lamuun).

2:152 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

So remember ME; I will remember you, and be thankful to ME and do not be ungrateful to ME.

So (Fa) remember ME (Ez'kuruunii); I (God) will remember you (Az'kur'kum'), and (Wa) be thankful (Esh'kuru') to ME (Lii) and (Wa) do not (Laa) be ungrateful to ME (disbelieve) (Tak'furuuni).

2:153 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

O you who believe, seek help through patience and the Litany. Indeed, GOD is with those who are patient.

O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), seek help (2:45) (Es'ta'eenu') through (Bi) patience (Es'Sob'ri) and (Wa) the Litany (Es'Solaati). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is with (Maä) those who are patient (Es'Soabiriin).

2:154 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And do not say about those who are killed in the way of GOD, "They are dead."In fact, they are alive, but you do not perceive.

And (Wa) do not (Laa) say (Taquulu') about those who (Liman) are killed (Yuq'talu) in (Fii) the way of GOD (Sabiili-llahi), "They are dead (Am'waatu)." In fact (Bal'), they are alive (3:169) (Ah'yaa'un), but (Walaakin) you do not (Laa) perceive (Tash'uruun).

2:155 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

And We will test you with something of fear 1, hunger 2, and the loss of wealth 3, souls 4 and fruits 5, so give good news to those who are patient;

And (Wa) We will (La) test you (p) (Nab'luwannakum) with (Bi) something (Shai'in) of (Mina) fear 1 (El'Khaw'fi), hunger 2 (El'Juue), and (Wa) the loss (Naq'sin) of (Mina) wealth 3 (El'Am'waali), souls 4 (El'An'fusi) and (Wa) fruits 5 (Etthamaraati), so (Wa) give good news to (Basshiri) those who are patient (Es'Soabiriin);

2:156 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

whom when a misfortune strikes them, they say, "Indeed, we belong to GOD and indeed, to HIM we will return."

whom (Ellaziina) when (Izaa) a misfortune (Musiibatun) strikes them (Asoabat'hum), they say (Qaalu'), "Indeed, we (Innaa) belong to GOD (Lillahi) and (Wa) indeed (Innaa), to HIM (ilai'hi) we will return (Raaji'uun)."

2:157 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Those are the ones upon whom are litanies from their LORD and mercy. And they are those who are the guided.

Those (U'laaika) are the ones upon whom (Älai'him') are litanies (Solawaatun) from (Min) their LORD (Rabbi-him') and (Wa) mercy (Rah'matun). And (Wa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the guided (El'Muh'taduun).

2:158 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the rituals of GOD. So whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or pays a visit, there is no blame on him to walk around them both. And whoever volunteers well, then indeed, GOD is Grateful and Omniscient.

Indeed (Inna), Safa (the hillock) (Es'Sofaa) and (Wa) Marwah (the rock) (El'Mar'wata) are among (Min) the rituals of GOD (5:2) (Sha'ääiri-llahi). Indeed, those who conceal what We have revealed of the proofs and the guidance, after that which We have made clear in the Book to the people. Those are the ones whom GOD has cursed, and they are cursed by the cursers,

Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) conceal (Yak'tumuuna) what (Maa) We have revealed (Anzal'naa) of (Mina) the proofs (El'Bayyinaati) and the guidance (Wal' Hudaa), after (Min Ba'di) that (Maa) which We have made clear (-Bayyannaa-hu) in (Fii) the Book (El'Kitaabi) to the people (mankind) (Lin' Naasi). 2:160 Shuaib Abdullahi (EN)

except those who repent, reform, and make it known, then those are the ones whom I will forgive, for I am the COMPASSIONATE, the MERCIFUL.

except (illa) those who (Ellaziina) repent (Taabu'), reform (As'lahu'), and (Wa) make it known (Bayyanu'), then (Fa) those (U'laaika) are the ones whom (-hum) I (God) will forgive (Atuubu Älai-), for (Wa) I am (Anaa) the COMPASSIONATE (Et' Tawwaabu), the MERCIFUL (Er' Rahiim).
