As-Saffat - Surah 37
182 verses
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Indeed, We thus reward the benevolent.
Indeed, We (Innaa) thus (Kazaalika) reward (Naj'zii) the benevolent (El'Muh'siniin).
إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, both of them were among Our believing servants.
Indeed, both of them (Innahumaa) were among (Min') Our (-naa) believing (El'Mu'miniin) servants (Ebaadi-).
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Elijah was one of the messengers,
And (Wa) indeed (Inna), Elijah (il'yaasa) was one of (Lamina) the messengers (El'Mur'saliin),
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
when he said to his people, "Will you not be pious?
when (Iz') he said (Qaala) to (Li) his people (Qaw'mi-hi), "Will you not (Allaa) be pious (Tattaquun)?
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ الْخَالِقِينَ
"Do you invoke Baal while leaving the best of creators;
"Do you invoke (A'tad'uuna) Baal (Ba'lan) while (Wa) leaving (Tazaruuna) the best (Ah'sana) of creators (El'Khaaliqiin); (Old Testament - 1 King 18:22 / 1 King 18:40)
اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
GOD, your LORD and LORD of your forefathers?!"
GOD (Ellaha), your LORD (Rabba-kum') and (Wa) LORD (Rabba) of your forefathers (Aabaai-kumul' Awwaliin)?!"
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
And they denied him, so indeed, they will be in attendance,
And (Fa) they denied him (Kazzabuu-hu), so (Fa) indeed, they (Innahum') will be (La) in attendance (Muh'doruun),
إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
except the sincerely devoted servants of GOD. 3
except (illa) the sincerely devoted (El'Mukh'lasiin) servants of GOD (Ebaada-llahi). 3
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ
And We left about him for later generations.
And (Wa) We left (Tarak'naa) about him (Älai'hi) for (Fii) later generations (El'Aakhiriin).
سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
Peace be upon Elijah.
Peace (Salaamun) be upon (Älaa) Elijah (il'yaasiin).
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Indeed, We thus reward the benevolent.
Indeed, We (Innaa) thus (Kazaalika) reward (Naj'zii) the benevolent (El'Muh'siniin).
إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, he was one of Our believing servants.
Indeed, he (Innahu) was one of (Min') Our (-naa) believing (El'Mu'miniin) servants (Ebaadi-).
وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Lot was one of the messengers,
And (Wa) indeed (Inna), Lot (Luutoan) was one of (Lamina) the messengers (El'Mur'saliin),
إِذْ نَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ
when We rescued him and his family all together,
when (Iz') We rescued him (Najjai'naa-hu) and (Wa) his family (Ah'la-hu) all together (Aj'maeen),
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ
except the old woman, she was among those who passed away.
except (illa) the old woman (Lot’s wife) (Äjuuzan), she was among (Fii) those who passed away (El'Gaabiriin).
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ
Then We destroyed the others.
Then (Thumma) We destroyed (Dammar'naa) the others (El'Aakhariin).
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ
And indeed, you have been passing over them early in the morning
And (Wa) indeed, you (p) (Innakum') have been (La) passing over them (Tamurruuna Älai'him) early in the morning (Mus'bihiin)
وَبِاللَّيْلِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
and at night. Will you then not reason?
and (Wa) at night (Billai'li). Will you then not (Afalaa) reason (Ta'qiluun)?
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Jonah was one of the messengers,
And (Wa) indeed (Inna), Jonah (Yuunusa) was one of (Lamina) the messengers (El'Mur'saliin),
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ
when he escaped to a loaded ship,
when (Iz') he escaped (Abaqa) to (ilaa) a loaded (El'Mash'huun) ship (El'Ful'ki),
