"O my people, enter the Holy Land which GOD has decreed for you and do not turn away on your backs, then you become losers."
"O (Yaa) my people (Qaw'mi), enter (Ed'khulu') the Holy (El'Muqaddasata) Land (El'Ar'do) which (Ellatii) GOD has decreed (Kataba-llahu) for you (Lakum) and do not (Walaa) turn away (Tar'taddu') on (Älaa) your backs (Ad'baari-kum), then (Fa) you become (Tanqalibu') losers (Khaasiriin)."
They said, "O Moses, indeed there are mighty people therein, for indeed, we will never enter it until they leave it, so if they leave it, then we will enter."
They said (Qaalu'), "O (Yaa) Moses (Muusaa), indeed (Inna) there are mighty (Jabbaariina) people (Qaw'man) therein (Fiihaa), for (Wa) indeed, we (Innaa) will never (Lan) enter it (Nad'khula-ha) until (Hattaa) they leave it (Yakh'ruju' Min'ha), so (Fa) if (In) they leave it (Yakh'ruju' Min'ha), then (Fa) we (Innaa) will enter (Daakhiluun)."
Two men both of whom GOD had favoured among those who feared said, "Enter to them through the gates, and when you have entered it, then indeed, you will be predominant. So rely on GOD, if you should be believers."
Two men (Rajulaani) both of whom (Älai'himaa) GOD had favoured (An'äma-llahu) among (Mina) those who (Ellaziina) feared (Yakhaafuuna) said (Qaala), "Enter to them (Ed'khulu' Älai'himu) through the gates (El'Baaba), and (Fa) when (Izaa) you have entered it (Dakhal'tumuu-hu), then (Fa) indeed, you (Innakum) will be predominant (Gaalibuun). So (Fa) rely (Tawakkaluu') on GOD (Älaallahi), if (In) you should be (Kuntum) believers (Mu'miniin)."
They said, "O Moses, we will never enter it, as long as they are therein; so you and your LORD should go and fight. Indeed, we will be here sitting back."
They said (Qaalu'), "O (Yaa) Moses (Muusaa), we (Innaa) will never (Lan Abadan) enter it (Nad'khula-haa), as long as (Maadaamu') they (the mighty people) are therein (Fiihaa); so (Fa) you (Anta) and (Wa) your LORD (Rabbu-ka) should go (Ez'hab') and (Fa) fight (Qaatilaa). Indeed, we (Innaa) will be here (Haahuna) sitting back (Qaaeduun)."
He said, "LORD, I can only control myself and my brother, so separate us from the immoral people."
He (Moses) said (Qaala), "LORD (Rabbi), I can (Innii) only (Laa illa) control (Am'liku) myself (Naf'sii) and (Wa) my brother (Akhii), so (Fa) separate (Ef'ruq') us from (Bai'na-naa Wa Bai'na) the immoral (El'Faasiqiin) people (El'Qaw'mi)."
HE said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years, they will be confused on earth. So do not grieve over the immoral people."
HE (God) said (Qaala), "Then (Fa) indeed, it (the Land) (Innaha) is forbidden to them (Muharramatu Älai'him) for forty (Ar'baeena) years (Sanatan), they will be confused (Yatiihuuna) on earth (Fiil' Ar'di). So do not (Falaa) grieve (Ta'sa) over (Älaa) the immoral (El'Faasiqiin) people (El'Qaw'mi)."
And recite the news of the two sons of Adam to them in truth; when they offered an offering, and it was accepted from one of them, but it was not accepted from the other. He said, "I will kill you."He said, "GOD only accepts from the pious.
And (Wa) recite (Et'lu) the news (Naba'a) of the two sons (Eb'nai') of Adam (Aadama) to them (Älai'him) in truth (Bil' Haqqi); when (Iz') they offered (Qarraba) an offering (3:183) (Qur'baanan), and (Fa) it was accepted (Tuqubbila) from (Min') one of them (Abel) (Ahadi-himaa), but (Wa) it was not (Lam') accepted (Yutaqabbal') from (Mina) the other (Cain) (El'Aakhari). He (Cain) said (Qaala), "I will (La) kill you (Aq'tulannaka)." He (Abel) said (Qaala), "GOD (Ellahu) only (Innama) accepts (Yutaqabbalu) from (Mina) the pious (El'Muttaqiin).
"If you should stretch your hands at me to kill me, I would not stretch my hands at you to kill you. Indeed, I fear GOD, LORD of the worlds.
"If (Lain) you should stretch (Basat'ta) your hands (Yada-ka) at me (ilayya) to (Li) kill me (Taq'tulanii), I (Ana') would not (Maa Bi) stretch (Baasitin) my hands (Yadiya) at you (ilai'ka) to (Li) kill you (Aq'tula-ka). Indeed, I (Innii) fear GOD (Akhaafu-llaha), LORD (Rabba) of the worlds (El'Äälamiin).
"Indeed, I intend to make you take over my sin and your sin, then you will be among the companions of the Fire. That is the penalty of the transgressors."
"Indeed, I (Innii) intend (Uriidu) to (An) make you take over (Tabuua Bi) my sin (Ith'mii) and (Wa) your sin (Ith'mi-ka), then (Fa) you will be (Takuuna) among (Min') the companions (As'haabi) of the Fire (En'Naari). That (Zaalika) is the penalty (Jazaau) of the transgressors (Ez'Zoalimiin)."
And his soul subjected him to kill his brother, so he killed him and became one of the losers.
And (Fa) his soul (Cain’s) (Naf'su-hu) subjected him (Tawwaät' Lahu) to kill (Qat'la) his brother (Abel) (Akhii-hi), so (Fa) he killed him (Qatala-hu) and (Fa) became (As'baha) one of (Mina) the losers (El'Khaasiriin).
Then GOD sent a crow to search in the ground in order to show him how to conceal the body of his brother. He said, "O woe to me! I have failed to be like this crow to conceal the body of my brother."So he became one of the remorseful.
Then (Fa) GOD sent (Baätha-llahu) a crow (Guraaban) to search (Yab'hathu) in the ground (Fiil' Ar'di) in order to (Li) show him (Yuriya-hu) how (Kai'fa) to conceal (Yuwaarii) the body (Saw'ata) of his brother (Akhii-hi). He (Cain) said (Qaala), "O (Yaa) woe to me (Wai'latanii)! I have failed (Aäjaz'tu) to (An') be (Akuuna) like (Mith'la) this (Haaza) crow (El'Guraabi) to (Fa) conceal (Uwaayiya) the body (Saw'ata) of my brother (Akhii)." So (Fa) he became (As'baha) one of (Mina) the remorseful (En'Naadimiin).
Because of that, We decreed to the Children of Israel that, whoever kills a soul other than for another soul or corruption in the land, then it is as if he had killed mankind all together. And whoever enlivens it, then it is as if he had enlivened mankind all together. And Our messengers had certainly brought them proofs, but indeed many of them after that were profligates in the land.
Because of (Min' Aj'li) that (Zaalika), We decreed to (Katab'naa Älaa) the Children of Israel (Banii Is'raa'iila) that (Annahu), whoever (Man) kills (Qatala) a soul (Naf'sa) other than (Bi-Gai'ri) for another soul (Naf'sin) or (Aw') corruption (Fasaadin) in the land (Fiil' Ar'di), then (Fa) it is as if (Ka'annama) he had killed (Qatala) mankind (En'Naasa) all together (Jamiiän). And whoever (Waman') enlivens it (Ah'yaa-ha), then (Fa) it is as if (Ka'annamaa) he had enlivened (Ah'yaa) mankind (En'Naasa) all together (Jamiiän). And (Wa) Our messengers (Rusulu-naa) had certainly (Laqad') brought them (Jaa'at'hum Bi) proofs (El'Bayyinaati), but (Thumma) indeed (Inna) many (Kathiiran) of them (Min'hum) after (Ba'da) that (Zaalika) were (La) profligates (Mus'rifuun) in the land (Fiil' Ar'di).
The only penalty for those who wage war against GOD and HIS messenger, and strive for corruption in the land is to be killed 1 or crucified 2 or their hands and their legs amputated from opposite sides 3 or banished 4 from the land. That is their disgrace in the world, and they will have a terrible punishment in the hereafter,
The only (Innamaa) penalty (Jazaau) for those who (Ellaziina) wage war against GOD (Yuhaaribuuna-llaha) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuula-hu), and strive for (Yas'äw'na) corruption (Fasaadan) in the land (Fiil' Ar'di) is to (An) be killed 1 (Yuqattaluu') or (Aw') crucified 2 (Yusollabuu') or their hands (Ai'dii-him) and their legs (Ar'julu-hum) amputated (Tuqattoä) from (Min') opposite sides 3 (Khilaafin) or banished 4 (Yunfaw') from (Mina) the land (El'Ar'di). That (Zaalika) is their disgrace (Lahum' Khiz'yun) in (Fii) the world (Ed'Dun'ya), and (Wa) they will have (Lahum') a terrible (Äziim) punishment (Äzaabun) in the hereafter (Fiil' Aakhirati),
except those who repent before you foresee them. And know that GOD is Forgiving and Merciful.
except (illa) those who (Ellaziina) repent (Taabu') before (Min Qab'li An) you foresee them (Taq'diru' Älai'him’). And (Fa) know (E'lamuu') that GOD (Annallaha) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
O you who believe, beware of GOD and seek the means to HIM and strive in HIS way perhaps you will succeed.
O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), beware of GOD (Ettaqu'llaha) and (Wa) seek (Eb'taguu') the means (17:57) (El'Wasiilata) to HIM (ilai'hi) and strive (Jaahidu') in (Fii) HIS way (Sabiili-hi) perhaps you (Laällakum) will succeed (Tuf'lihuun).
Indeed, those who disbelieve, even if they possess whatever is on earth altogether and the like of it along with it in order to ransom with it from the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, it will not be accepted from them. And they will have a painful punishment.
Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru'), even if (Law' Anna) they possess (Lahum) whatever (Maa) is on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) altogether (Jamiiän) and (Wa) the like of it (Mith'la-hu) along with it (Maähu) in order to (Li) ransom (Yaf'tadu') with it (Bihi) from (Min') the punishment (Äzaabi) on the Day of Resurrection (Yaw'mil' Qiyaamati), it will not (Maa) be accepted (Tuqubbila) from them (Min'hum’). And (Wa) they will have (Lahum') a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabun).
They will wish to go out of the Fire, but they will never go out of it. And they will have a permanent punishment.
They will wish (Yuriidu) to (An) go out (Yakh'ruju') of (Mina) the Fire (En'Naari), but (Wa) they (Hum) will never (Maa Bi) go out (Khaarijiina) of it (Min'ha). And (Wa) they will have (Lahum) a permanent (Muqiim) punishment (Äzaabun).
As for the male thief and the female thief, henceforth amputate their hands as a requital for what they acquired as an exemplary punishment from GOD. And GOD is Almighty and Wise.
As for (Wa) the male thief (Es'Saariqu) and (Wa) the female thief (Es'Saariqatu), henceforth (Fa) amputate (5:33) (Eq'tauu') their hands (Ai'diya-humaa) as a requital (Jazaa'a) for what (Bimaa) they acquired (Kasabaa) as an exemplary punishment (Nakaalan) from GOD (Minallahi). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Almighty (Äziizun) and Wise (Hakiim).
And whoever repents after his wrongdoing and reforms, then indeed, GOD will forgive him. Indeed, GOD is Forgiving and Merciful.
And (Fa) whoever (Man) repents (Taaba) after (Min Ba'di) his wrongdoing (Zul'mi-hi) and (Wa) reforms (As'laha), then (Fa) indeed, GOD (Innallaha) will forgive him (Yatuubu Älai'hi). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
Do you not know that to GOD belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth? HE punishes whomever HE wills and forgives whomever HE wills. And GOD is capable of all things.
Do you not (Alam') know (Ta'lam) that (Anna) to GOD (Ellahu) belongs (Lahu) the dominion (Mul'ku) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di)? HE punishes (Yuäzzibu) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau) and (Wa) forgives (Yag'firu) whomever (Liman) HE wills (Yashaau). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is capable of (Qadiir Älaa) all (Kulli) things (Shai'in).
