By (Wa) the transmitters (El'Mur'salaati)* of custom (Ur'faa),

and those who storm with tempest,

and (Fa) those who storm (El'Ääsifaati) with tempest (Äs'faa),

and the publishers of announcement,

and (Wa) the publishers (En'Naashiraati) of announcement (Nash'raa),

and the differentiators of discrepancy,

and (Fa) the differentiators (El'Faariqaati) of discrepancy (Far'qaa),

and the deliverers of remembrance

and (Fa) the deliverers (El'Mul'qiyaati) of remembrance (Zik'raa)

as excuse or warning,

as excuse (Uz'raan) or (Aw') warning (Nuz'raa),

indeed, what you are promised will take place.

indeed, what (Innamaa) you are promised (Tuu'äduuna) will (La) take place (Waaqiu).

So when the stars have been obliterated,

So (Fa) when (Izaa) the stars (En'Nujuumu) have been obliterated (Tumisat'),

and when the sky has been separated,

and (Wa) when (Izaa) the sky (Es'Samaau) has been separated (Furijat'),

and when the mountains have been blown up,

and (Wa) when (Izaa) the mountains (El'Jibaalu) have been blown up (Nusifat’),

and when the messengers have stamped the time;

and (Wa) when (Izaa) the messengers (the Angels) (Er'Rusulu) have stamped the time (Uqqitat');

for what day has it been delayed?

for (Li) what (Ayyi) day (Yaw'min) has it been delayed (Ujjilat')?

For the Day of Decisiveness!

For (Li) the Day of Decisiveness (Yaw'mil' Fas'l)!

And what will make you know what is the Day of Decisiveness?

And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is the Day of Decisiveness (44:40) (Yaw'mul 'Fas'l)?

Woe to the deniers, on that day. 1

Woe (Wai'lun) to the deniers (Lil' Mukazzibiin), on that day (Yaw'maizin). 1

Did We not annihilate the predecessors?

Did We not (Alam') annihilate (-Nuh'liki) the predecessors (El'Awwaliin)?

Then We followed them with the later generations?

Then (Thumma) We followed them (Nut'biu-humu) with the later generations (El'Aakhiriin)?

Thus did We deal with the criminals.

Thus (Kazaalika) did We deal (Naf'älu) with (Bi) the criminals (El'Muj'rimiin).

Woe to the deniers, on that day. 2

Woe (Wai'lun) to the deniers (Lil' Mukazzibiin), on that day (Yaw'maizin). 2

Did We not create you ’ from a despised liquid,

Did We not (Alam') create you (p) (Nakh'luq’kkum) from (Min) a despised (Mahiin) liquid (Maain),
